Avoiding A Sea Change With Nautilus
BSW Window Solutions has chosen to buy in roof lanterns from Nautilus so it can still supply the in-demand Sheerline S1 without being distracted from its traditional work.
The fabricator is based in Peterborough while Nautilus in nearby Yaxley. Nautilus now supplies the S1 to BSW's trade customers, along with the F1 Rooflight. The arrangement lets BSW put its energy into fabricating its high-quality aluminium windows and doors while a dedicated partner looks after roof glazing, with customers still getting the service and lead times BSW is known for.
No desire to dilute
“We've built our reputation on fast turnaround for windows and doors. We didn't want to dilute that by trying to be everything to everyone,” said Rob Morley, the MD of BSW Window Solutions. “Nautilus is run by people who know roof lanterns inside out. Having them just down the road in Yaxley means we can offer the S1 without any drop in the service our customers expect.”
Sheerline
Installers are drawn to the S1, manufactured from Sheeline’s proven system, for its straightforward fitting process. Installation-ready kits and pre-assembled components cut time on site, while hook brackets support the hip rafters during construction to make assembly more manageable.
“Time on site is money for our customers, so a lantern that goes together properly matters more than most people realise,” added Morley.
Thermal efficiency
The S1's slim aluminium profiles maximise glass area without giving up structural strength, and thermally broken frames with Sheerline's Thermlock multi-chambered technology make it one of the most thermally efficient lanterns of its kind.
Security features include anti-tamper screws, a patented corner assembly lock and overlapping castings that shield the top caps from attack.
“The S1 gives installers a lantern they can trust on performance and security,” said Morley. “For BSW, it's about rounding out what we offer without moving away from what we're good at.”
