Launchpad For Space Saver
A well-priced EV443/CNC corner cleaner is on the launchpad. It is aimed at fabricators working with a diverse range of profile systems who also need to make efficient use of space.
Measuring just 86cm x 98cm, excluding its frame support table, the machine combines its remarkably small footprint with the flexibility to clean a wide range of window frames, sashes, doors, patios, vertical sliders and bi-fold joints.
One knife
Rather than relying on a large selection of expensive, profile-specific tooling, the new machine from Kombimatec uses a 250mm TCT milling blade, controlled by a two-axis CNC electronic drive system, to clean the outside edge of the welded corner. This technology is more commonly associated with considerably more expensive corner cleaning kit.
Spring-loaded 3mm groove knives track the profile surfaces, enabling the machine to groove both the top and bottom faces and mill the outside edge within a single operating cycle. Full two-axis interpolation also allows decorative profile shapes to be accurately milled, delivering a consistently high-quality finish across a broad range of profile designs.
Programming and remote assistance
Programs can be created directly through the machine’s touchscreen interface or prepared offline on a computer using simple text files and then downloaded to the machine. The touchscreen also provides operational controls and diagnostics, while an ethernet ready version supports remote technical assistance.
The ability to create and adjust programs without repeatedly investing in specially manufactured tooling not only helps to reduce operating costs but gives fabricators greater flexibility when introducing new profiles or refining the finish.
Knives in
Space is provided for an optional decorative milling blade designed to suit the fabricator’s chosen window system. Special knives are also available for processing woodgrain and foiled products, with the option to isolate the groove-knife stations to protect foiled surfaces. The main milling blade can likewise be isolated when groove-only operation is required.
Auto-start
The cleaning cycle begins automatically when the frame joint is inserted, helping to keep production simple and efficient. A dedicated start sequence also enables the EV443/CNC to process small sashes down to an internal dimension of just 140mm.
