The founder and CEO of Insight Data, was speaking at the launch of the Industry Report 2026.

Scott added: “When you look past the headlines, the industry is shifting beneath our feet. If you are relying on old contact lists or guesswork, you are bound to fall behind. We talk to businesses every single day that want real growth. They need accurate, live data to know where to knock on doors. That is exactly what we fix."

The Report

Insight Data’s 2026 Industry Report tracks 13,402 fabricator and installer businesses across the country, showing notable stability with a modest 1.1 per cent drop from 13,551 firms in 2023, alongside an 11.2 per cent contraction over nine years from 15,099 in 2017.

Beneath this headline stability, individual segments show distinct movement. PVC-U fabricators fell by 7.35 per cent over the last three years to 1,083, whilst aluminium fabricators decreased by 3.98 per cent to 867. Meanwhile, installation firms proved remarkably resilient, dipping by just 0.28 per cent to 11,756 active businesses. Insulated glass unit manufacturers saw numbers ease from 680 down to 647.

Market intelligence

Insight Data uses market intelligence, driven by more than 20,000 telephone verification calls every month, to help its customers navigate this shifting terrain. By uniting a continually updated database with the power of its Salestracker CRM and growth engine, the company equips commercial teams with deep business intelligence, financial checks and live lead tracking.

Scott said: “This means suppliers can zero in on active trade and commercial customers by region, size and product focus, ensuring every sales call lands on fertile ground.”
