While Some Shrink, Others Grow

In just one year at a new factory, AluFold Windows has increased staffing and added PVC-U manufacturing. Who said growth is impossible in the current market?

The supply-only fabricator moved into its Blackburn facility in August 2025, initially focused exclusively on aluminium windows and doors. Just over 12 months later, AluFold has expanded its manufacturing footprint by more than 60%, from 56,457sq.ft to 90,407sq.ft.

The additional space has enabled the business to introduce a dedicated PVC-U factory, increase production capacity and create a new despatch area to support its growing customer base.

The company is backed by Leicester’s Unique Window Systems, which acquired the business and assets of AluFold Direct when it went into administration on 10 June.

Reliable service

AluFold Windows supplies aluminium and PVC-U glazing to installers and contractors across the UK. Its structured, supply-only model is built around reliable service, technical expertise and controlled, repeatable production.

AluFold’s PVC-U offering is manufactured exclusively using Eurocell systems. This range gives installers and contractors access to a wider choice of products through one supply-only fabrication partner.

The business has also grown to a team of 35 people, bringing together the manufacturing experience, technical knowledge and customer focus needed to support its expanding operation.

Stability

Managing Director, Neal Addison, said: “There’s a real positive energy within the business. In just 12 months, we have expanded our facilities, introduced PVC-U fabrication and strengthened the infrastructure behind our service. We now have more space, greater capability and an experienced team that understands what our customers need from a fabrication partner.

“Our relationship with Unique Window Systems is an important part of that. AluFold retains its own specialist team and supply-only focus, while benefiting from the scale, expertise and operational support of the wider group. In practice, that gives our customers greater confidence in our manufacturing capability, supply capacity and long-term stability.

“This first year and a bit has given us a strong platform for the next stage of AluFold’s development. We’re looking forward to continuing to invest in our people, our facilities and the service we provide.”
